 On 13 May the South African Principals Association had a session with Interactive Musical Tubes, hosted by Camps Bay High School.  And on 16 May Rhythm Workshop was back at Fish Hoek High School for the third time, with the whole high school squeezed into the auditorium – always a spirited session!

 Westerford High Grade 10’s had a Founder’s Day Musical Tubes session in March, and there was Interactive Drumming at Africa Café later in the month.  19 April was the Wynberg Girls High Grade 11 annual session with Musical tubes – the girls are always full of high spirits before they head off on camp.

Africa Café hosted many tourist drumming sessions from August through to December 2016.  Delighted tourists drummed along to exciting rhythms and were entertained by the Rhythm Workshop with mbira and song.  17 Nov was our first repeat event at Maynardville with Action Volunteers Africa, using Musical Tubes.

 January 2016 kicked off with drumming at Africa Café and a workshop with the Peace Boat travelers. There were African Masala Shows on board ships in C.T. Harbour in January and April.                                  February brought our annual Wynberg Girls High Grade 11 workshop with Interactive Musical Tubes – always a high spot for us!

Musical Tubes at Bishops

The Bishops High School Memorial Chapel reverberated to the sound of musical tubes as 650 delegates at the IBSC  Conference enjoyed the rhythm and music.  The opening ceremony of the annual International Boys School Coalition Conference was kicked off by the Rhythm Workshop who also enjoyed the wonderful acoustics in the beautiful M

The African Masala Show did 4 performances on board the Ocean Princess in Cape Town docks, over 2 evenings.  The passengers lapped up the different tastes of South African culture  performed by the very diverse cast! 

March/April 2015 - Masala at Ferrymans

Masala welcomed their new guitarist, Greg Schoeman, who slotted into the band keeping everyone  playing up a storm.  They are usually found at Ferrymans at the V & A Waterfront  from 15:00 to 18:00 on Sundays.&nbsp

Rhythm Workshop was part of the KWEEK culture festival at the school – musical tubes for 550 students – the session rocked! 

20 March Plaisir de Merle

Vuyo playing Mbira

More drumming fun with another group of French tourists – on the lovely wine estate, Plaisir de Merle, near Paarl.   At the end of the drumming they were treated to a song with mbira (African thumb piano) played by Vuyo Katsha, accompanied by James and Julie.
