In The Round

In 2015 Julie will be facilitating workshops for people to sing in harmony and learn more about how to do this. The basis for much of the learning will be singing rounds.  If you're interested in joining a workshop send her an email to be added to the data base for future info.  julie@rhythmworkshop.co.za

Singing rounds is a wonderful way of creating harmony – both literally and figuratively – and is
a powerful way to transcend boundaries. People who have never sung in harmony before can experience something that previously seemed impossible.

NOTE: A round is a musical composition in which two or more voices sing exactly the same melody
(and may continue repeating it indefinitely), but with each voice beginning at different times so
that different parts of the melody coincide in the different voices, but nevertheless fit harmoniously
together. It is one of the easiest forms of part singing, as only one line of melody need be learned by
all parts, and is part of a popular musical tradition.
